behind the art:

ENNEAGRAM Three

And in case you wanted to study them, and didn't get enough time in the video, here are those sketches!

When I first went to propose being a desert with mirages to a Three, I had a huge lump in my throat and my fingers were sweating. What was I thinking?! But it felt so right and so full of truth that swallowed my fear and did it. Their responses were incredible, and made me brave enough to tackle the creation of this piece. Here’s what one Three said about it:

“While nothing I could have ever imagined, it’s so perfectly familiar my initial reaction was, ‘Oh! Of course’ as though I found myself right at home in it. Finally, it feels so customized and perfect for me as an individual— and being someone who isn’t all that tapped into emotions, it doesn’t come naturally for me to have a connection with, or strong response to, any art. But this is so different than any other art. It’s like identity art.” - Jordan

Again, a great thing about these paintings is that they can be read and experienced in different ways! So, I’d love to hear from you, Threes! How does this painting resonate with you, and your journey and process toward health? How do you find yourself in it? What parts hurt to look at and what gives you hope?

If you aren’t a Three, but love one, how does this painting give you empathy for their path as you walk alongside them?

Thank you all for being here, and for trusting me as I translated your types.

I'm honored and privileged to do this project with and for humans like you!

You make this a beautiful place,

Kyra
