behind the art:
And in case you wanted to study them, and didn't get enough time in the video, here are those sketches!
When I shared this painting this week, I was absolutely flooded with comments from Eights who felt encouragement in it, and in their type, for one of the first times. And I got on my soapbox for a little bit after that because these are such beautiful souls -- and they bring so much vibrancy, and necessary benefit, to our communities.
Eights, thank you for being here. For pulling your heart up to the surface.
Also, if you haven't heard the Sleeping at Last song for Eight, go do that now. You can listen to it here.
"I'll shake the ground with all my might
I will pull my whole heart
Up to the surface
For the innocent, for the vulnerable
I'll show up on the
Front lines with a purpose
And I'll give all I have,
I'll give my blood, I'll give my sweat-
An ocean of tears will
Spill for what is broken
I'm shattered porcelain,
Glued back together again
Invincible like I've never been."

A great thing about these paintings is that they can be read and experienced in different ways! So, I’d love to hear from you, Eights! How does this painting resonate with you, and your journey and process toward health? How do you find yourself in it? What parts hurt to look at and what gives you hope?
If you aren’t an Eight, but love one, how does this painting give you empathy for their path as you walk alongside them?
Thank you all for being here, and for trusting me as I translated your types.
I'm honored and privileged to do this project with and for humans like you!
You're making this a fertile, beautiful land, grown on the soil of your passion and zeal.
